Tomorrow will mark the 3rd year in a row that we will be open the day after Thanksgiving.
Who can correctly guess the number of times we have been open Thanksgiving weekend out of the last 7, 20 & 30 years? First correct guess gets two free lift tickets for this season.
Thanks everyone for guessing. The correct answer is 5, 9 & 13. So as our snowmaking plant has improved, so have odds to open earlier:
3/3 - 100%
5/7 - 71%
9/20 - 45%
13/30 - 43%
Congrats Tim

October 23, 2019 – What’s New Wednesday at the Peaks: A new groomer! We took delivery of a Prinoth BR350 yesterday, which will compliment the snowcat that we purchased last year. The tractor is more powerful, more efficient and processes the snow much better than previous models. We’ll be able to send two BR 350s out every night to bring you plenty of that corduroy that everyone loves. Plus, we gotta be able to move all that snow around that we plan to make with all those extra snow guns…

September 25, 2019 – What’s New Wednesday: New Bull Wheel Bearings on the top and bottom terminals of the South Peak Triple Chair. It doesn’t have a huge marketing splash, but it’s very important behind the scenes maintenance and a huge project to lower the bull wheels.
It is recommended that bullwheel bearings should be replaced every 20-25 years. If a bearing was to go bad in the middle of winter, the lift could be down for 2-3 weeks. Cheers to the lift maintenance crew for their preventative maintenance program and always keeping those lifts spinning!

September 4, 2019 – Our “What’s New Wednesday” series is back! We are busy getting ready for the upcoming ski season and we will highlight some of the off season improvements over the next few months on Wednesdays.
The crew is currently installing a new 12” snowmaking pipeline coming out of the pumphouse. The new 12” pipe replaces 1000 feet of old 8” pipe. The larger pipe will result in more water flow, better pressure, and less friction loss, which translates into more snow, made faster & more efficiently.
Gotta keep feeding those snow guns!

Caberfae Peaks (Archive) – WHAT’S NEW for 2018 – 2019
The crew at Caberfae Peaks were busy this summer working on many improvements to the ski slopes and resort amenities, including: improved skier drop off area, the addition of 4 new SMI Super PoleCat snowmaking guns, an expanded parking lot, a brand new Green Mountain Flying Carpet Lift, and more… Here’s are with some of the new things that you’ll see on your visit to Caberfae Peaks this season.
Improved skier drop off area with new pavement, pavement markings and concrete sidewalks. The area also includes the creation of a courtyard/green space for our outdoor ceremony sites, relocation of the putting green, and areas to gather.
Snowmaking improvements continue this off season with the addition of 4 new SMI Super PoleCat snowmaking guns, along with the addition of 9 new SMI PoleCat snowmaking towers. Bring on the cold temps!
More seasonal lockers for rent in our Ski & Snowboard Rental Facility. Are you tired of schlepping your gear to and from the resort? Get a locker for the season, starting at $149.
New Bull Wheel Bearings. The crew spent part of the summer replacing the bearings on the top bull wheels. The key to keeping the lifts spinning during winter operations is great off-season maintenance.
Improved snowmaking infrastructure on South Peak. The crew has installed over 1000′ feet of larger diameter snowmaking pipe to allow for better flow, less friction loss, and a higher PSI. What does that all mean? More snow, faster.
Brand new cross country ski rental equipment from Rossignol. For those Nordic skiing enthusiasts, you can now rent XC equipment at the Peaks and access 15 km of groomed trails right from our resort.
4 New SMI Super Pole Cat snowmaking towers and 9 new SMI Polecat snowmaking towers.
Expanded parking lot, including 200 additional parking spaces, significantly improved drainage, and a complete resurfacing with recycled asphalt millings. Enjoy plenty of parking and a greatly improved parking surface this winter!
Renovated learn-to-ski beginner area, including the installation of the brand new Green Mountain Flying Carpet Lift! Renovations also include a gradual, more gentle grade to the slope, additional snowmaking pipe, electrical installations, and 3 new fixed snowmaking towers.
