New Chairlift At Caberfae Peaks For the 2016-17 Ski Season

We are proud to announce the installation of highest chairlift in Northern Michigan! A brand new Doppelmayr, triple chair is currently being installed for the 2016/2017 season.

The new chairlift will have a top elevation of 1561′ and will provide an incredible 360 degree view of the surrounding Manistee National Forest.

The new fixed-grip triple chairlift will better serve the North Peak complex. The chair will unload at the top of North Peak 15 vertical feet higher than the North Peak Quad Chair. This will allow easy access to both the green runs on the back side (Smiling Irishmen, Easy Street, Shelter) and the more advanced runs on the front side (Canyon, Lift Line, No. 1, Cruiser).

The new chairlift will increase our uphill capacity, which will reduce lift lines at the bottom of North Peak.

May Erlewine returns to the Gopherwood stage with her new CD in two. We know you want to miss the return of one of Michigan's premier songstresses.

Some people might call May Erlewine “Michigan’s darling songbird”, but her songs have traveled far beyond her home state. One of the most prolific and passionate songwriters of her generation, May’s music has touched the hearts of people all over the world. Her words have held solace for weary hearts, offered a light in the darkness and held a lot of space for the pain and joy of being alive in these times. When she starts to sing, there’s no way around it. Welcome to the moment, everyone.

Raised in a family rich with art and music, May began writing songs and playing them for the people at a very young age. Her journeys have taken her all over the world, from street corners to renowned stages, May has performed for all walks of life. In her travels Erlewine came to know the land and the pulse of the people. Her songs show a very real connection and concern with everyday folk.

May pulls from a wide variety of sounds and influences to create her unique musical landscape. You’ll hear traditional folk roots, old time country swing, soul and rock and roll but mostly she’s inspired by the hearts of the people and the one in her chest. This music is about feeling and it’s about telling life’s stories.

Advance tickets $15 for adults, $18 at door, $7 for students 13-18, $9 at door, and 12 and under free with adult. They are available at Toy Town and The After 26 Depot Cafe in downtown Cadillac, online at My North Tickets and via phone at 1-800-836-0717.

Olivia Mainville & the Aquatic Troupe WOWED us at Bliss Fest last summer. We think they'll WOW you as well.

Of her own volition, Grand Rapids-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Olivia Mainville dove headfirst into the world of music as early as the fifth grade, when she had begun playing viola and upright bass in orchestra. Following her first Wheatland Festival in 2012, Mainville fell in love with the idea of performing her own songs on stage, which eventually inspired her 2014 gypsy swing and baroque pop debut EP, Full Steam

Since the release of her first solo output, Olivia has forged a unique path, becoming known alongside her band, the Aquatic Troupe, for their energized, dynamic performances and their gargantuan musical talent. Olivia Mainville & the Aquatic Troupe’s debut album, Maybe the Saddest Thing, released on December 10th, 2015 with a special guest appearance by none other than David Bowie’s bandleader and lead guitarist, Gerry Leonard —their multifarious, enthusiastic delivery is sure to be a hit with listeners everywhere.

NEW FOR THE 2015/2016:
The lower level of the Blackmer Day Lodge has been reconfigured. In an effort to provide more seating and better accommodate guests packing their lunches, picnic tables can no longer be reserved. We have built storage cubbies on the east wall, along with adding electrical outlets. Please store your gear in the cubbies, when you are out on the slopes. Also, all skis and boards must now be kept outside. We hope these changes will provide more seating and significantly improve everyone’s enjoyment at Caberfae Peaks!

December 4, 2015 – Slopes opened Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6
