We are sorry to report the Cadillac Festival of Races is cancelled for 2019. We have seen a steady decline in participants over the last 4-5 years and this year is no exception. Please know if you have already registered to run/bike/board or if your business has so generously sponsored, you will received a full refund. This post is getting an enormous amount of eyeballs and responses, which is heart warming, but why do the 3770 people that saw this not sign up and participate? It’s not like we don’t want to do the race...

Karen Shuboy Sullivan, gee I wonder why I quit this race 4 or 5 years ago....

That is sad. I have run this race once. I live in Owosso and we have a festival of races during our Curwood Festival. Less than 35 people finished the half this year. They may as well put a fork in that one as well. Each year the numbers go down.

I so appreciate all you and your volunteers have done to bring quality racing to Cadillac. After doing about 40 of Cadillac‘s Labor Day races, it will seem different thiis year.

A loss for our community. Longest running 10k in Michigan I believe. And one of, if not THE, first adventure type multi-sport events in Michigan. The venue, awards, race environment and support over the years have been some of the best I’ve personally experienced compared to numerous races I’ve participated in throughout the state. Thank you for the years of effort trying to maintain and grow this event in our community.

I’m just gonna live in my race shirts and weep. It was great. I wish planning and volunteering was all cheaper and easier. I’ve always wished we could have a mud run or obstacle race or bubble run or foam run or foam glow or anything not around here. But I know that takes lots of πŸ’° and lots of people and of course participants. Really sad to see the longest running 10k go bye bye. But as a volunteer for this and many organizations, I totally understand.

Absolutely loved this event! So sad to see it cancelled. I’ll miss the cool shirts too... it was great while it lasted and THANK YOU to all that made it happen over the years!! πŸƒπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‘£πŸ‘£πŸ‘£πŸ‘£πŸ‘£

This post is getting an enormous amount of eyeballs and responses, which is heart warming, but why do the 1400 people that saw this not sign up and participate? It’s not like we don’t want to do the race...

I’m so sad! I have run this race, since 2012, the year after I met my husband.

My favorite race last year and my first overall win which I'll never forget. I really liked this race and sad to see it being cancelled but understand

So sad

Emily Woodcock

That's too bad😞 look forward to it every year

I would love to do it but since back surgery I don’t run anymore....I’m sorry to see it go

This is exactly what happened to the “Ride for A Cause” for our local Oasis ...it use to bring in thousands for Oasis and after a decade dwindled to nothing ... unfortunate. In Wexford county when I looked at the non-profits we were trying to support back than it was 140!! A very generous community however it’s just a rotating movement of the same money - people can’t donate or participate in everything ..

Lena Marie Tammy Wenn 😞 😞 😞

JaneJerry Sinkel πŸ™

Pamela Cryderman wtf

I ran in this race the last two years, and won silver in my age group last year. I had a blast and will miss this event, but I also understand the reason for cancelling it. Thank you Gus, as well as all the volunteers, for putting on such a fun and exciting race. Hopefully, this event can make a comeback at some point.

I’m sorry to see it’s ended... But honestly today is the first time I’ve ever heard about the race, and I’ve lived in Cadillac for 8 years and lake city for 25 before that...I’m just wondering if maybe there wasn’t enough people aware of it? Because I’ve talked to many others that have also never known about it and they are also from the area...

You can’t even just put on a 5k or the 10k? This is the longest running 10k. That would be terrible to just end that like that

I was planning on signing up in the next few weeks. Great race! 😒

I'm sad and disappointed, but understand the enormous amount of resources it takes for an event like this. I had planned to participate in the adventure tri, shame on me for not registering early to show support for this event. Thanks for the years of races!

We think there are simply too many competing events in the region and interest has changed from races in our format to “color runs” mud runs and obstacle course racing. We’ve seen a very sharp decline in registrations and sponsorship, to the point we had to decide to either loose a lot of money or pull the plug. We are a non profit that has donated to worthy causes in our community over the years. It is really unfortunate to see it end after a very very long continuous “run”

A good reason to celebrate 🍻American Craft Beer Week starts Monday! Join the celebration and support independent brewery businesses. ACBW provides an opportunity for beer lovers to connect safely with each other while supporting local microbreweries!

We just erased the brackets from March Madness and are preparing to make it our "Brew-it-Forward" chalk board. When someone "brews it forward" to a friend (or a stranger), both the giver and recipient's names will be put on the board. We will post daily photos of the board on facebook, so check back often to see if your name is on the board.

There will also be a "feature" tap of highly sought after beer every day (available in a 16 ounce prowler)... Gift this and you'll have a best friend for life! It's never been more important to show your gratitude to beer lovers! Cheers to our loyal supporters! Now get out there and drink more beer, okay? . #GiveCraftBeer

Both the Farmers' Almanac and the Old Farmer's Almanac agree: "Snowfall is going to be greater than normal in Upper Michigan" and temperatures will below average. With season passes starting at $149, it sounds like it might be a good time to shop for one: store.caberfaepeaks.com/categories/season-passes ... See MoreSee Less

Did the prices go up since last year? πŸ€”

But did they account for temperatures rising globally?

Yay!

I hope so!!!

The colors are just starting to emerge in the high elevation around the Peaks and opening day of the ski & snowboard season is only 100 days away. Unless, a cold front hits us early like the last two years, then it's only 94 days away. Don't worry, Season Passes are on sale for another 42 days....

$149 - Weekend Pass - valid Saturdays & Sundays
$149 - Midweek Pass - valid Monday-Friday
$249 - Peak Pass - valid 7 days a week

It's that time of year and 2020/2021 ski and snowboard season passes are now on sale! caberfaepeaks.com/rates/season-passes/

We've been busy preparing for the upcoming winter season and are confident we'll be able to turn the snow guns on and open up the lifts this winter. Pass prices are valid through September 30th, after that, pricing is still TBD. store.caberfaepeaks.com/categories/season-passes

😁 $149 is a great deal. The peeps at Caberfae are in the business for the right reasons. Im sure when we are out of this mess things will be differant. I expected an increase, and am ok with it to make up for the lost revinue from last ski season, and the beginning of golf season. Lets look at the big picture. Think of the extra $$$ as a donation to support a GREAT ski area. Thank you Caberfae for putting skiers and golfers first. We're in!

Question..... You say you will have limits on the mountain? What if you are season ticket holders arriving for the day. Could you be turned away because of capacity?

We’re buying 3 season passes. Shit, we’d even spend $250 apiece because your mountain is awesome, it’s a quick day trip and we’ll support you for many more years. Love you Caberfae!!!

This would be the perfect time to add the outdoor deck and heat lamps outside by R Dubs Pub!! We love using outdoor seating at other resorts and have always thought it would be ideal at Caberfae!!

Are you blowing snow yet? 😳🀣🀣🀣. I am looking forward to ski season. Hopefully your lift operators will have more enthusiasm when they drink Mt. Dew. πŸ˜ƒπŸ€©πŸ˜

I knew prices had to go up one of these days but I’m sure it’s still the best deal around looking forward to it

149 is still a heck of a deal. I'm sure that they have to increase the lift passes because the lodge will have some major restrictions this coming season. Therefore less people buying food in the cafeteria and bar area . They need to make up that loss of revenue somehow.

Yay! Excited to see these posts this morning ❀️ loving summer time- but love the memories we created last year on our weekend trips! Can’t wait to make more.

Thanks for the update. I am in. $149 is still a great deal. You go 4-5 times and it pays for itself. Looking forward to seeing what has been going on over the summer

Is South peak going to be open on weekdays? This would in fact help to spread skiers out.

After three years, I'm out. Just can't justify price increase; I'm getting a Bohemia pass instead.

Thank you for all your efforts to open this year, I'm sure it is not a small task. Im looking forward to using my season pass---still a great bargin.

Are there not going to be discounted early buy tickets this season?

Is there even going to be a ski season at this point..

Not going to play into the Covid hysteria this coming season are you?....

Why by September 30? Such a strange year and you will not start making snow until November Can’t we wait this out some more? I don’t trust our Governor

Will this mean longer lift lines to keep the 6ft rule on chair lifts?

Are the $99 pass specials coming in September?

Our boys are excited. A great place for family fun πŸ™‚

We look forward to getting up there!!

We have passes from last year and were not able to use them as the border got shut down. We travel from Ontario Canada. We still do not have open border. Someone was supposed to get in touch with me about refund.

What happened to the $99.00 deal like in the past?

You closed on March 13th this season with great snow on the ground. How do we know if you’ll open or stay open this season due to ‘rona?

See you soon no problems with the price increase It only make sense love this place my home away from home in the winter

So cannot wait for the season to start. Care to share any progress made on the new peak? πŸ™‚
